To the parents who made the hard decisions about school this year, we see you.
Every option had pluses and minuses, pros and cons; but in the end you had to weigh those options and choose what was best for your child and your family.
To the parent who decided to send their child back for in-person learning, we support you.
To the parent who is working through the logistics of remote learning, we support you.
To the parent who has chosen to homeschool this year, we support you.
To the parent who decided to have their child take this year off from official schooling, we support you.
The bottom line is there is no right or wrong to how we handle schooling this year. None of us knows what each other parent, child, and family faces. Let the parents make the best choice for their own and you make the best choices for your own. None of us got into this parenting game thinking we’d be faced with these challenges.
This school year will be messy (but when isn’t it!). Don’t be too hard on yourself as you adjust and adapt to these new challenges.
And let’s all remember to give each other grace, support, and kindness through this crazy stage of life.
