On the off chance that your New Years Resolution is to become at least somewhat healthier, I wanted to compile a list of the best food bloggers to follow that can help you on your journey.
Gina Homolka, Skinnytaste.com
Even if you give up on being healthy January 3rd, you should keep following Gina. I own two out of the three of her cookbooks and she is an absolute gem. Her food blog has everything from hostess tips (How to setup an easy bagel bar brunch) to 20-minute weekday meals. She was the blogger that introduced me to Zoodles (Zucchini noodles) and she follows Weight Watchers, so she gives you how many points each meal is, as well as how many servings and the nutritional information.
This next one is actually from MyFitnessPal (which is sponsored by Under Armour): https://blog.myfitnesspal.com/category/nutrition/recipes/.
I subscribe to their newsletter and I get an email of recipes every Saturday. I normally meal plan on Saturdays so I can go to the grocery store on Sunday. This email delivered to my inbox every Saturday is the perfect time for me. They curate recipes from around the web and post articles such as “10 Most Popular Chicken Recipes of 2018” and have recipes from MyFitnessPal, as well as other websites.
Her recipes vary from cookies around the Holidays to lots of salads in the summer. She likes to cook seasonally – meaning using the fruits and vegetables that are in season – lots of tomatoes in the summer, squash in the winter/fall, that kind of thing. She has a nice variety of dishes.
On the note of zoodles, if you like to pretend you are eating cards, but want to sneak in more vegetables, you need to check out Inspiralized.com (and buy a spiralizer). This website has thousands of recipes using a spiralizer.
There you go! Hope this helps you on your journey to a healthier 2019, or at the very least, gives you some new recipes to try out and blogs to follow.
