Tufts Children’s Hospital

Tufts Children’s Hospital has been caring for kids since 1894.

Tufts Children’s Hospital began in 1894 as a hospital ship for children that sailed Boston Harbor. It instituted the concept of family-centered care. Today Tufts Children’s Hospital is a comprehensive, full-service children’s hospital in downtown Boston.

As an academic medical center, all physicians at Tufts Children’s Hospital hold faculty appointments at Tufts University School of Medicine. These are the leaders in their fields, conducting academic medical research, authoring textbooks, and using their years of experience to treat complex pediatric illnesses. Their mission is to improve the lives of children and their families.

The hospital offers pediatric inpatient and outpatient services in every medical and surgical specialty – from general pediatric services to the care of the most complex cancers, heart disease and traumas.
